Pathak's documentary first runner-up of World TV Award

KATHMANDU, June 29: In the midst of ongoing political and social failures, Nepal has a moment to feel proud of journalist and filmmaker Dil Bhushan Pathak who has won this year´s World TV Award for his documentary ´Peace Song´, a journey for peace through music under the category of Television Documentary Contributing to Conflict Resolution.



Pathak emerged as the first runner up of the award organized by Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) TV Award, which has public, private sector and freelance producers as its participants. In the award Robert Lamb´s film, Morocco: Never Again secured the top position.



Pathak´s Peace Song is the quest of the common ground for Nepalis after the decade long conflict in Nepal. The 60-minute documentary has used music as common ground to bring all Nepalis together even the people in oppositions during the conflict for strengthening the peace process. And the documentary is produced by Search for Common Ground, an INGO and Interface, Nepal, a media house founded by Dil Bhushan Pathak.
