KATHMANDU, July 21: The parliament session of the Constituent Assembly to elect the new prime minster is underway on Wednesday.
Though the session was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. it has begun around 3:45 p.m.[break]
Unified CPN (Maoist) candidate Pushpa Kamal Dahal was proposed by Dr Baburam Bhattarai and seconded by Narayankaji Shrestha.
Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Paudel was proposed by Sher Bahadur Deuba while seconded by Kul Bahadur Gurung.
UML candidate Jhalanath Khanal was proposed by Prime Minister and UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and seconded by Bishnu Paudel.
Leader of Terai Madhes Democratic Hridayesh Tripathi stress on consensus government while addressing the parliament.
Ram Janam Chaudhary, leader of Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Democratic said that the leaders of the big three parties were signing a deal for their own benefits.
