Paras to lead ACC emerging teams cup Cricket championship

KATHMANDU, July 18: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has prepared a 19-member team led by Paras Khadka for ACC Emerging Teams Cup Cricket Championship scheduled to be held from August 17-25 in Singapore.



According to CAN Secretary Uttam Kumar Karmacharya, the close training camp of the Association has selected main 15 cricketers and four alternative ones in the team.

Gyanendra Malla has been selected Vice-captain, while Sharad Bheswaker, Subash Khakurel, Avinash Karna, Prithu Banskota, Shakti Gauchan, Rahul Bishwakarma, Basanta Regmi, Ram Naresh Giri, Pradeep Aire, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Chandra Saud, and Anil Mandal. Amrit Bhattarai, Sanjam Regmi, Naresh Budha Aire, and Mahesh Chhetri are the alternative members in the team. [break]



Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan will play in group ´A´ while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, and organizer Singapore will play in the group ´B´ in the Championship played in 50 overs.



Meanwhile, CAN has decided to send its players to Sri Lanka from 1-14 for practice matches with Lankan national team, said secretary Karmacharya.
