KATHMANDU, June 26: Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will be arriving in Nepal on a three-day visit on Saturday. He is scheduled to hold bilateral consultations with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and other top leaders of major political parties.

During his visit, cultural and trade-related aspects of the bilateral relations will also be taken up, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

“The two sides will also discuss cultural and trade relations as Pakistan annually provides scholarships to Nepali students and for last couple of years trade between the two countries has also taken precedence,” MoFA spokesperson Madan Bhattarai said.

Nepal has been importing mainly leather goods and dry fruits from Pakistan and Pakistan has provided duty-free access to Nepali tea in Pakistani market.
