According to police, the jeep (Na.1 Ja 2133) which was heading to Maldungha in Parbat district, skidded off the road and plunged 50 meters down the hillside at Pushrekola.[break]
The deceased has been identified as Kairsing Gharti Chhetri of Dhamja VDC-8 in Baglung district.
Six of the injured were admitted to Beni District Hospital and three others were moved to Pokhara for further medical treatment, said the police.
Police said they believed the accident was due to excessive speeding and were searching for jeep driver Kiran Pun who is absconding.
