KATHMANDU, May 30: Senior CPN-UML leader K P Sharma Oli left for New Delhi on Sunday "for treatment". He is scheduled to return home on Monday.

Sources said he is also scheduled to hold meetings with political leaders during his stay in New Delhi.

Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport before his departure, Oli said the resignation of the prime minister will come after the parties arrive at national consensus on all contentious issues.

Asked if the parties had reached an agreement to make the prime minister step down within five days, Oli said, "It is good if the parties are able to forge national consensus within five days."
