The NSC premises remained tense throughout the day after security officials arrested the committee´s officials in course of breaking the lock. The officials caught at 11 a.m. were released at 6 p.m. in the presence of NSC Member Secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary, acting treasurer Minkrishna Maharjan, and member Samim Miya Ansari. [break]
“The arrest of players and coaches does not send a good message. So we went to release them,” Chaudhary said, adding, “We will ourselves solve internal disputes.”
Chaudhary also assured that the issue of contract coaches would be solved soon. “Surely there was delay but we will try to solve the issue as soon as possible,” Chaudhary said.
However, the struggle committee has again padlocked NSC in the evening. The committee locked NSC accusing the latter of not implementing the agreements reached on June 13. NSC had agreed to issue a notice for interview within five days on June 13.
According to Maharjan, agreements were not implemented due to NSC´s weakness. “NSC would not have faced such problems had the May 26 agreements been implemented,” Maharjan said, adding that injustice was done to contract coaches.
The NSC had agreed to start NIS coaching within a week on May 26 and place an advertisement for permanent staffs on the 20th day.
Struggle committee coordinator Kajiman Shrestha said that they were released under the initiation of Maharjan. Shrestha said their demands include conduct of NIS training and permanent appointment to contract coaches.
