NSC had dissolved the CAN executive committee led by Binay Raj Pandey on October 26 and formed a new executive committee headed by UCPN (Maoist) cadre Tanka Aangbuhang. NSC, then, had ordered CAN to formulate its statute and hold election within the 60 days.[break]
CAN, forming a statute drafting committee headed by its Vice President TB Shah, has recently submitted the draft to NSC.
NSC amended the draft and added a provision of appointing a patron by elected executive committee. “The elected executive committee can appoint an expert of the game or a person serving cricket for a long period as its patron,” says the amended clause of the statute.
“Our drafting committee has not included the clause. Probably, the NSC added it. We are yet to receive the amended copy of the statute,” said CAN General Secretary Ashok Pyakurel.
NSC had appointed ex-president Pandey as the patron of CAN on November 17.
The statute approved by NSC includes a provision of electing 31-member executive committee.
According to Pyakurel, the draft submitted to the NSC has given the voting rights to two representatives each from eight cricketing regions, one representative each from 38 districts committee and members of the executive committee as well as two representatives of technical committee.
The technical committee includes referees and coaches.
“However, I´m unaware of it, if NSC had made any amendment,” said Pyakurel.
