NPC intensifies monitoring development activities

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: The National Planning Commission (NPC) has intensified the monitoring of development activities being carried out by various ministries.



Joint Spokesperson at the NPC, Sagar Acharya has said at a weekly news conference that the monitoring was continued under the leadership of the NPC Vice-Chairman Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri.[break]



Similarly, the Ministry of Local Development has directed its bodies and office chiefs to make public the telephone numbers and develop a mechanism to hear people´s complaints through SMS.



At today´s conference at the Information Ministry, Joint Spokesperson at the Local Development Ministry, Bhupa Raj Rai said the Ministry was garnering suggestions from various bodies on the guidelines on the management and operation of the consumers´ committee.



It was shared at the news conference that 30 districts have begun e-bidding process.



Similarly, as many as 3,959 civic forums and 596 civil awareness centres were set up under the Ministry.
