"After the Supreme Court verdict regarding the Nepal Olympic Committee two years ago, IOC has been asking us not to give up our stance but we are trying to find an alternative," explained NOC President Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan during a press meet on Thursday.

Pradhan led committee has been seeking recognition after the SC in November 2010 recognized the organization led by Rukma Samsher Rana.

"As NOC was registered at the district administration office under the home ministry, we could not maintain stability. This invited political interference, which finally led the SC to issue such a verdict. We are now trying to maintain stability in NOC and we are looking for legal alternatives toward that end," said Pradhan.

Meanwhile, NOC General Secretary Jeewan Ram Shrestha has accused the Rana-led committee of illegally withdrawing money from the NOC bank account. "They withdrew Rs 120,000 from our account at the Prime Bank. They are misusing the funds provided by IOC and Olympic Council of Asia," said Shrestha. "We have reported the incident to IOC and OCA and we have already asked clarification from the bank. IOC and OCA will take further action on the issue," he added.
