KATHMANDU, May 14: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that there has been no change in the behavior of Maoist leaders and cadres.

Speaking to journalists at Teaching Hospital in the capital Friday, the PM said there is huge gap in what Maoist leaders say and do. “They talk about consensus but their action proves otherwise,” he said.

PM Nepal had reached the hospital to meet Min Bahadur Khadka, a teacher from Okhaldhunga, who was severely beaten up by the Maoist cadres on Wednesday. He was brought to Kathmandu in Nepal Army helicopter on Thursday.

The relatives of the victims and various teachers´ unions have demanded that the government take strict action against the culprits.

The PM has assured them that the government has already directed the concerned authorities to take impromptu action against those involved in the incident.
