Nine student bodies shut down Morang private schools

BIRATNAGAR, April 20:  Demanding the withdrawal of school fee-hike in the institutional schools throughout the country,  nine students  organizations  including Nepal Students Union, All Nepal Free Students Union and All Nepal Independent Students Union have jointly shut down all the institutional schools here in the district on Monday.




More than 50,000 students have severely affected due to the closure of the 374 schools in the district.

Various student organizations affiliated to different political parties have been organizing the protest against the ‘unilateral decision’ to fee hike of the institutional schools.

 District leaders of the students unions had reached schools to shut down the schools in the district.



Earlier a meeting between the district Education Office and agitating student organizations had failed to yield any fruit.



The student organizations have been demanding the withdrawal of hiked fee within 10 days.



However, the organizations of the institutional organizations have been demanding  determination of the school fees in line with the Annex-22 of the existing Education Regulation.
