New minimum salary of workers comes into effect

KATHMANDU, June 4: The government has fixed the minimum salary of workers and employees working at factories and industries except the tea gardens. Accordingly, the minimum salary of workers has been fixed at Rs. 5,100 per month.



Similarly, the government has fixed the dearness allowance at Rs 2.900 and the daily wage at Rs. 318.



This salary rate would come into effect once a notification is published in the Nepal Gazettee, the Ministry of Labour and Employment stated. The Ministry had fixed Rs. 3,550 as the minimum salary of workers two years back.



Meanwhile, the Ministry stated that a total of 12,393 people benefited from different vocational training provided by the Vocational and Skill Development Training Centre in the last month.
