The 14-member panel led by Sapkota defeated the panel led by DB Koirala to lead the umbrella organization of over 600 trekking agencies in the country. Bachchu Narayan Shrestha, Mahendra Singh Thapa, Rajendra Bajgain, Nima Dorjee Sherpa and Khum Bahadur Subedi have been elected as 1st vice president, 2nd vice president, general secretary, secretary and treasurer respectively.
Likewise, Nima Sherpa, Manila Sherpa, Nima Dendi Sherpa, Suman Dahal, Kul Bahadur Gurung, Bhimraj Poudel, Ramesh Dhamala and Rashmi Tamot were elected as members.
According to TAAN statute, the executive committee will nominate three members in the 19-member executive committee. Immediate past president Jyoti Adhikari and president of TAAN Pokhara chapter Basanta Duwadi are the ex-officio members in the panel.
