Nepse slides 7.05 points

KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped 7.05 points to settle at 671.47 points on Tuesday. NEPSE, a barometer of market sentiment, saw a loss of 1.04 percent as most of the major player sub-index suffered a loss during the trading. Share analysts said the delay in the government taking full shape has create confusion among investors, pushing down stock prices at NEPSE - the sole secondary share market. [break]



Except for the Others and Hydropower groups, all groups of companies witnessed falls in their sub-indices during Tuesday´s session. Banking and Development Bank groups saw declines of 6.42 and 12.21 points to close at 688.66 and 701.04 points in their sub-indices respectively. Similarly, the Finance and Insurance sub-indices also moved into the red-zone, slipping 42.99 and 5.49 points to finish at 686.56 and 633.16 points respectively.



However, Hydropower and Others groups gained 0.57 and 5.88 points to reach 907.47 and 652.07 points respectively.



The Sensitive Index, which measures performance by Category ´A´ companies, lost 2.77 points to close at 178.81 points at the end to trading Sunday. A total of 78,223 units of shares worth Rs 49.27 million were traded through 953 transactions during the day. Total market capitalization, the total value of shares, reached Rs 459.30 billion at the end of the session.
