Nepali: The TV blog contest

KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepali, a TV blog, is calling out for participants who consider themselves Nepalis to send in a 30-second video defining what “Nepali” is.

The TV blog, in its first season, documents a journey of discovery, understanding and assimilation across the length of Nepal from the west to the east to unravel the different meanings that ‘Nepali’ attains among the various threads that weave together our common identity as a people, geography, food, culture, music, vocation, emotions and expressions.[break]

The blog, which is to be aired on Avenues Television, is to be presented by Yubakar Raj Rajkarnikar, Media Manager at Search for Common Ground, Nepal, and directed by Tsering Choden, winner of Democracy Video Challenge (DVC), 2009 from South and Central Asia held by the US State Department.



The entry can be in any language, should be original and not copied and should be less than 30 seconds.

The video can be on any format but should be unedited with no cuts, background music or overlay text. Only a selected few entries are to be included on Nepali – a TV Blog.

Entries are to be sent with the participant’s names, contact address, email address, telephone number and a short paragraph describing about the entry to nepalitvblog@gmail.com.
