Rise in the movement of Nepali jobseekers to UAE and the emergence of UAE as a major tourist hub in the Middle East prompted officials of both the countries to sign the agreement.[break]
Sushil Ghimire, secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Omar Bin Glaleb, deputy director general of Civil Aviation Authority of UAE, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.
The agreement, however, allows designated airlines to operate unlimited number of cargo flights using any kind of aircraft between the two countries. As per the agreement, designated airlines of both the countries can use bi-lateral ´code share´ as well as third party ´code share´ system to manage passengers on regular flights.
Officials of UAE has also expressed commitment to arrange trainings for staffers of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and Nepali airlines.
The officials will hold next round of meeting to further liberalize the aviation service between two countries in 2015.
