“All tourism-related umbrella organizations in Nepal will coordinate with the Nepal Tourism Board to achieve this goal by 2011 - the Visit Nepal Year. Support will also be gathered from organizations like the Universal Federation of Travel Agents (UFTA), the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA),” concluded a meeting of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Hotel Association of Nepal, Trekking Association of Nepal, Nepal Association of Tour Operators and Nepal Association of Rafting Agents held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
To date, Mt Everest Day is only celebrated in Nepal. However, this year Denmark, Doha, Malaysia, Dhaka and Sydney will observe the day as ´Nepal Day´.
In Nepal, hotel, travel, rafting and tour operators´ associations will celebrate the occasion jointly with a rally and a grand meeting in the evening, states a press release issued by NATTA.
