KATHMANDU, July 21: Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang met with Prime Minister Jhalantath Khanal and expressed concerns over the stalled process of army integration on Thursday.

During the meeting held at the PM’s office in Singha Durbar, Nembang asked PM Khanal about the reason for delay in integration of PLA fighters into national army. [break]

In response, PM Khanal, who is also the chairman of the Special Committee for supervision, integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants, said intra-party disputes are mainly to blame for the delay.

On the occasion, PM Khanal also assured Nembang that he would soon hold talk with leaders of  other political parties and push the integration process forward.

There are concerns growing in the country with very little progress made in the peace process less than one-and-a-half months remaining for expiry of the extended term of CA.
