Through the talent hunt, NeBA had selected 52 players and provided full-scholarship for them in 10 different colleges of Kathmandu last year. The program is mainly focused on the players who have recently completed their School Leaving Certificate examinations.

More than 170 players have registered their name for the talent hunt. The training for the selected players will be held at three different places in Kathmandu -- Kirtipur Basketball Court, Morgan International College and Nobel Academy in two shifts. Six coaches will be running the coaching classes for the players which will run for two months.

Similar type of talent hunt will be running in Pokhara and Dharan simultaneously. Twenty five players will be selected for the training in Dharan while 35 players in Pokhara.

Thapa informed that the colleges which do not have sufficient players in their team will benefit from this program. “Through this program, we will be able to run the club-level games to promote basketball,” Thapa added.
