A notice has blacklisted Devi Bahadur Thapa of Duragaun-3, Pashupati Karki of Duragaun-4 and Ramesh Wagle and Hari Kumar Sunuwar OF Duragaun-7 calling them aides of NC and UML. The hand-written notice pasted at different places in the village does not contain the name or signature of the person issuing it.
A copy of the notice has also been sent to the district office of the CPN-UML, publicity department head at the office Tul Prasad Kandel acknowledged.
The notice comes in the wake of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) issuing threats of people’s action against NC and UML cadres recently. The notice issued in the name of Maoist deputy district in-charge Rajan Dahal had created ripples and the Maoists were forced to suspend him saying he acted against the party policy.
The Maoists have yet to react to this fresh notice said local journalist Navaraj Pathik but UML politburo member termed it an example of the autocratic and fascist nature of the Maoists.
The notice says, “This notice including the blacklist has been issued against these aides of Congress and UML to either reform and surrender on time or leave the village in the present context when a few reactionary, status quoist and foreign imperialist agents have been attacking Nepal’s nationalism and pride.”
It then goes on to add, “The names of persons and political cadres standing for the reactionary camp will be gradually added in the blacklist,” as a note at last.
