The meeting of the top-notch NC leaders held in Baluwatar on Saturday morning decided to field Koirala as the next prime minister, said NC chief whip Chin Kaji Shrestha.Earlier, the NC had entrusted its three heavyweights - Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ramchandra Paudel – to take a final decision on this issue after each of them claimed over the post of next prime minister.
The election of the prime minister has been scheduled for 11 am Sunday. Any interested member of the Legislature-Parliament can file his candidacy for the post of prime minister from 11 am until 4 pm today in line with the Article 298 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal 2015.
The parliament secretariat will publish the list of candidates by 4 pm today.
