SAPTARI, July 1: With the arrest of one Allaudin Miyan, Nepal Police has been able to solve the mystery surrounding the murder of nine people in Saptari district.
Through its Sera Kilo operation, District Police Office (DPO) of Saptari was able to nab Allaudin who revealed to the police that the murders were committed by Mohammad Sakil Hussein Miyan from Saptari district.
He also informed the police that the serial killer and his accomplice, Rais Miyan, fled the country as migrant workers and are now in Qatar.
According to the police, the serial killer, Mohammad Sakil Hussein Miyan, of Kusaha VDC-6 in Saptari killed his second wife, his 58 years old father-in-law Idris Khalifa, and 55 years old mother-in-law Jaitun Khatun in Sunsari district, while he murdered Arul Miyan, Pandav Paswan, Sahbud Miyan, Saagira Khatun, Dulari Devi Shah, and Nirmala Devi Shah in Saptari district.

Along with Allaudin, police have arrested Hajrun Khatun, of Jandaul VDC, Samina Khatun and Nagina Khatun of Kanchanpur VDC and Nasul Miyan of Sambhunath from Saptari and Majbul Miyan of Sonmati VDC from Siraha district.
Other accomplices of Sakil in the serial killings, Mohhamad Mastakim, an Indian national living in Sarshwar VDC, and Guljar Miyan, of Paterwa VDC in Saptari, have managed to evade police arrest.
The police has already issued a Red Corner notice in coordination with Interpol to arrest the alleged culprits hiding in Qatar, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Shishir Karmacharya, who is also chief of DPO, Saptari.
As per SP Karmacharya, skeletons of seven people, out of the nine who were murdered, have already been recovered. Four skeletons were recovered from Saptari, while three from Sunsari district.
