According to the police, Laxman Kanta Mishra was allegedly murdered by Diwakar Dutta, the former´s business partner in Sankhuwasabha Hydro power Project. Dutta was an Indian national but had a Nepali citizenship issued by Morang district administration. He had been living in Simra, Bara.
Dutta had had taken Rs 8 million from Mishra, said the police. According to Parsa District Police Office (DPO), Dutta killed Mishra by hiring professional killers.
Roshan, son of the deceased, said, “Dutta called my father to Birgunj for a meeting. Before my father went missing he was in Birgunj.” [break]
Mishra had arrived in Birgunj on July 10 and had been staying at Kailash Hotel. He went missing on July 26. The CCTV record of the hotel also reveled that Mishra last seen with Dutta before he went missing, said the DPO.
“They had left the hotel in a Tata Sumo registered in Uttar Pradesh in India. The jeep was driven by Kirani Sah, 40, of Parsha Bhawanipur,” informed Parsha Police Superintendent (SP) Dhiraj Pratap Singh.
“Investigations have revealed that Mishra was taken Sauraha canal near Bhawanipur and was killed there,” said SP Singh informed. Police have already recovered the dead body, which was found buried near the canal. The body has been sent to Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital for the autopsy. According to the police, Kirani Sah, Lal Bihari Raut Kurmi and Radheshyam Singh have already admitted to murdering Mishra for Rs 500,000.
