Likewise, Shrestha defeated Pravin Gurung 11-8, 11-9, 11-2 and will now take on Shakya, who beat Deepak Thapa 11-3, 11-3, 11-5. Defending champion Thapa, who had reached the quarterfinals on Monday, will vie with Singh for a place in the semifinals. Singh edged past Kiran Maharjan 11-3, 11-7, 11-2 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Amrit Thapa, the defending junior boys´ champion, secured a semifinal berth as he defeated Amir Blon 11-2, 11-0, 11-0. Likewise, Deepak Thapa beat Anamol Gandhi 11-9, 11-7, 12-10. Pravin Gurung edged past Akash Sunuwar 11-7, 11-2, 11-4 and Arhant Keshar Singh beat Jeevan Thing 11-1, 11-7, 11-3 to reach the semifinals of junior boys´ section in the tournament being held at the Satdobato Squash Academy, Lalitpur.
In the junior girls´ singles, Manjila Ale Magar defeated Swasthani Shrestha 11-6, 11-2, 11-8 on Tuesday. In the masters´ singles, Bidur Dhamala beat Lal Bahadur Gurung 11-9, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7 on Tuesday to reach the semifinals. Meanwhile, Sudeep Bahadur Gurung advanced into the last four after receiving a walkover from Rajendra Bhakta Shrestha.
