“The Nepal Army urges the protesters not to take the patience and restraint the army has maintained so far as the army´s weaknesses,” said the statement.
The NA warned that it will not hesitate to go for rescue of NA personnel if similar incidents repeat.
According to NA´s statement, Maoist protesters captured NA soldier Ram Kumar Khadka from Sundhara on Friday evening while he was taking juice at a fruit shop. The army said the Maoists showed him to the media and tried to tarnish the image of the entire Nepal Army.
Likewise, the Maoist protesters captured, misbehaved and subsequently handed over two NA soldiers -- Resham Hamal and Dev Bahadur Bista -- to the police, accusing them of spying against the Maoists from Sundhara Sunday. While Bista was heading to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for treatment, Hamal was there to his documents photocopied.
Meanwhile, Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said Maoist cadres had held two army "infiltrators" and they were handed over to the police with dignity and honor.
