KATHMANDU, June 12: The UCPN (Maoist) has called a meeting of the party´s central committee (CC) beginning June 22 to settle the party´s internal disputes including the party establishment´s moves on the peace process.

“We have been informed that the party would hold a meeting of the CC beginning June 22,” said Maoist politburo member Bishwo Bhakta Dulal. He said that the CC will discuss the current issues, mostly those relating to the peace process.[break]

Over two dozen PLA personnel who have been providing security to the party hardliners have not yet submitted their weapons to the party headquarters and refused to go back to the cantonments, despite the party´s formal decision in this regard.

The hard-line faction, led by Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya has termed the party´s decision to end the dual security as capitulation of the party´s ideology and have demanded a CC meeting to settle the issue. The Maoist party has seen growing factionalism and deepening crisis lately.
