Speaking at a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union, Koirala ruled out the possibility of change in government as there is a threat from the Maoists to democratic system and values.
He said there is no possibility of government change as the collapse of government would mean handing over the power to the Maoists. “No one would leave the government just because someone demands or issues threats to it,” he said.
Koirala alleged that the Maoists were pushing the country toward catastrophe by raising various conditions to other political parties. He accused the Maoists of not abiding by the past agreements with other political parties.
Koirala blamed the Maoists for current political deadlock. “The Maoists have been talking about constitution just for the sake of talking,” he said. “But they are bent on usurping power by inciting problems in the country.”
Koirala asked the Maoists to transform into a civilian party and implement all agreements reached in the past to create an environment of trust among political parties.
