Maoist plenum deferred

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Maoists have postponed the party plenum to October 29, citing busy schedule of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.



The last central committee meeting had decided to hold the party plenum in Chitwan from October 23.



A meeting of the Maoist top office bearers on Sunday took a decision to this effect. The venue of the meeting has also been changed to Gorkha.



The plenum holds special importance for the party as sharp ideological differences among the top three leaders -- Dahal, Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya and Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai -- will be resolved there.
