Prem Raj Devkota of Gorkha, who runs the coffee shop, slapped the cheeks of the Maoist lawmaker who was returning from parliamentary. [break]
"He asked me when the constitution will be drafted. I told him we are working on it and asked for patience. He then he slapped my cheeks" media quoted Subedi as saying.
Subedi was little known until the Constituent Assembly poll in April 2008 when he defeated then UML general-secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal.
"I am ready to die but will not spare those who make people suffer," Devkota told journalists after police apprehended him.
This is the second slapping of a politician in three months. A man slapped CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal in January as political parties failed to elect a prime minister.
