Punesh Prasad Jaishwal, a resident of Bhawanipur-4 of Parsa district, shot at the school principal, police said. Police arrested Jaishwal Monday evening, according to Inspector Abhaya Joshi. According to police, Jaishwal is associated with a Tarai-based group, Samyukta Tarai Janatantrik. But earlier, cadres of the Tarai Cobra, an armed group, had owned up to shooting Thaseneku. She was shot at on December 25.
Different teachers´ organizations disrupted vehicular movement in several parts of the district to protest the attack. Earlier, these organizations had shut down educational institutions in the district for three days in protest.
