Maldives pulls out of AFC U-16; schedule changed

KATHMANDU, Oct 3
: The Maldives have pulled out of the AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers scheduled be begin in Kathmandu on Oct 5. [break]



“The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) informed us that the Maldives has pulled out of the event,” ANFA spokesperson Lalit Krishna Shrestha told myrepublica.com.



Shrestha, however, said that ANFA has not received any further information about the pullout.



Meanwhile, the organizers have re-scheduled the event.



Other teams in the Group B qualifiers are Nepal, Iran, Bahrain, Lebanon and Tajikistan.



Top two teams of the group will qualify for the AFC U-16 Championship 2010 finals.



All the matches will be played at the Dasrath Stadium.
