Energy minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said load shedding will be ended by 2015 with the construction of three projects (nine mega watt) this year, 13 projects (120 mega watt) in second year, 15 small projects (100) mega watt) in third year and upper Tamakoshi. [break]
In order to limit power outage on 12 hours a day even in dry season, various initiatives such as bringing Dubai multi fuel plan and Hetauda diesel into operation, encouragement for the use of CFL bulb, ban on the import of inverters and arrangement for power import from India have been undertaken, said Dr Mahat.
At a press conference organized here by Ministry of Energy, he added additional import of electricity from India by constructing Nepal-India electricity line will help reduce existing load shedding time within coming two years.
