Literary Icon Ramesh Bikal dies at 81

KATHMANDU: Literary icon Ramesh Bikal passed away at 4:15 this afternoon at the Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel, Jorpati. Bikal was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday following asthma attacks and respiratory failure. [break]



Talking to myrepublica.com, Bikal’s daughter-in-law cited Bikal’s lung failure as the cause of his death. Bikal is survived by two sons and four daughters. He turned 81 this Tihar on Bhaitika.



Bikal is one of the finest writers in the post revolution era (1951 AD). His works Awiral Bagdacha Indrawati, Naya Sadak Ko Geet, Saat Surya Ek Fanko are considered as some of the finest in contemporary Nepali literature.
