Sofia Shah of Lincoln stole the show in the two-day event held at Little Angels´ swimming pool in Hattiban, Lalitpur winning the highest seven golds -- two in relay and five in individual events. Shah added two more individual golds on Sunday to her overnight tally of three golds. Shah, who competed in the girls´ above-15 years age category, claimed golds in 50m breaststroke (37.29 seconds) and 50m freestyle (29.55 seconds). She was also part of the Lincoln team that won the girls´ open 4x50m freestyle relay.
Manish Chitrakar of HIMS also clinched two gold medals on Sunday to finish with five gold medals. Chitrakar, who competed in the boys´ above-15 years age category, won the 50m backstroke (34.34 seconds) and 50m freestyle (27.34 second) events.
Oshina Bharati of Lincoln took gold in 100m individual medley of girls´ 13-14 years age group clocking 1 minute 21.79 seconds. She added two more golds winning the 50m backstroke (38.74 seconds) and 50m freestyle (33.27 seconds) events. She was also a member of the Lincoln team that won the 4x50m freestyle relay.
Devesh Manandhar of Holy Garden secured three golds while Tenzing Doma Sherpa of LA and Alex Shah of Lincoln claimed two golds each.
According to a press statement issued by the National Sports Council, a total of 324 swimmers from 49 schools participated in the swimming championship.
