Limbuwan halts voter's list collection

DAMAK, Oct 8: Voter´s list collection with photograph has been halted at Damak-15 in Jhapa after Limbuwan cadres snatched a scanner machine and a camera.



According to Area police Office, Damak, the voters´ list collection programme has been halted after Limbuwan cadres came on motorcycles and took the materials used in voters´ list collection under control from a team deployed at Padini Higher Secondary School.[break]



Police said Limbuwan cadres also looted documents from the team. Inspector Nabin Karki of Area Police office, Damak, said search for them was underway.



Earlier too, voters´ list collection was postponed due to obstructions by Limbuwan cadres, who have been saying "voters´ ID cards prepared at this time won´t be useful as the country is preparing to adopt federal states".
