The five-day event has brought wide range of commodities, including apparels, footwear, food items, electronics goods and gadgets, under one roof, aiming to create live marketing environment for Dashain shoppers this festive season. [break]It is being jointly organized by Himal Media, Direction Nepal, House of Rajkarnikar, and Global Expositions and Management Services.
The expo features a total of 200 stalls. There is also a special Chinese pavilion named ´China-Yunan Pavilion´ that features 25 stalls from the northern neighbor.
Popular artistes Hari Bansha Acharya and Madan Krishna Shrestha jointly inaugurated the expo amid a function on Wednesday. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Kanak Mani Dixit, editor of Himal South Asia, said the expo has been organized targeting the major festivals like Dashain, Tihar and Chhath so that people could carry out shopping with joy and fun.

Anup Prakash, director-corporate event at Himal Media, said the expo will be one stop destination for Dashain shopping as visitors can get all the necessary items under one roof.
Stalls at the event are showcasing products like readymade garments, kurtha salwars, shoes, bags, cosmetics, carpets, pashmina products, beddings, blankets, kitchen wares, home appliances, mobiles, solar systems, silverwares, cycles, biscuits and typical Newari sweets like lakhamari, among others.
As growing number of Nepalis are using the festive holidays to tour around with families, the expo also has stalls of numerous tour operators. They are offering various domestic tour packages to facilitate people interested to travel this festive season.
"The products and services at the expo fundamentally reflect how the lifestyle of the urban people has changed. Hence, we named the event Lifestyle Expo," said Dixit.
In addition to this, the organizers have also arranged concerts and quiz contests in a bid to entertain the visitors. "We have invited 14 different famous bands to perform. We will have 3 bands performing every day," said Prakash.
Given the range of products and services available at the expo and also the environment it promises to create for the shoppers, the organizers said they expect the five-day event to attract a footfall of around 150,000.
To visit the expo, the customers would need to buy the entrance ticket, which costs Rs 50 per person. For students, the price of ticket has been set lower at Rs 30 per person.
