Lawmakers from ruling parties to vote for Bhandari

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: A joint meeting of the ruling parties held in the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor in the Capital on Wednesday decided to vote for Bidya Devi Bhandari in the presidential election.

In the meeting, Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal urged all members of parliament from the ruling parties to vote for Bhandari.


Speaking in the meeting, PM Oli believed that the position of President would further glorify through Bhandari's win.

He added that Bhandari's candidacy is also taken important in terms of gender and social equality.

Lawmakers have started voting in the election to the post of the second President. Another contender for the post is Kul Bahadur Gurung, former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress. RSS
