RASUWA, Oct 30: Langtang Valley Trek has reopened following the construction of alternative paths.
Although the Bhotekoshi flood damaged the Pasang Lhamu Highway and infrastructure in the Syaphrubesi area, new trekking routes have been opened, considering the safety of trekkers.
Locals are happy after the world-famous trekking route, obstructed due to the flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River, comes into operation.
Langtang reclaiming fervor swept by avalanche
Safe alternative routes have been constructed with the initiative of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal and local levels.
An environment has been created for tourists to reach Bambo, Lama Hotel and Langtang village from Dhunche via Thulo Bharkhu, Brabal and Thulo Syaphru.
Sharing about the condition of the Langtang area, Chairperson of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4, Dindu Jyangba Tamang said, "Though the disaster had damaged trekking routes, we have now made alternative routes safe. Tea Houses, hotels and local entrepreneurs are fully prepared to welcome tourists in Langtang Valley."
Tamang underlined that the arrival of both domestic and foreign trekkers would be crucial for making Langtang's economy dynamic as well as for the economic rehabilitation of the disaster-affected indigenous Tamang community.
Though the natural disaster had affected local tourism businesses and livelihoods, tourist guides, porters, and local businessmen are excited about the opening of alternative trekking routes.
