KU Exam Controller Pushpa Raj Adhikari submitted his resignation letter to VC Dr Ram Krishna Makaju Shrestha on Thursday, while Registrar Bhadraman Tuladhar had resigned on Wednesday, confirmed Mukunda Upadhyaya, the administrative chief of the university. [break]
However, the VC has not accepted the resignation yet. A meeting of the KU executive committee would decide on Adhikari´s resignation on Sunday. But Tuladhar´s resignation from Registrar post can be accepted only by the Chancellor of the university, said Upadhayay.
“As Sharma has set the trend leaving his position for new appointment, I feel a younger person should hold my responsibility now,” said Registrar Tuladhar. He has been in the position since 2009. His tenure in office would expire in 2015.
Tuladhar added that he would be taking another responsibility in the KU once the resignation is accepted.
Meanwhile, some KU professors have claimed that both the officials left the post following the pressure from VC Makaju.
“Dr Makaju wants to appoint his faithful to the posts. He has been pressurizing even other officials to resign,” claimed Professor Bhivuti Ranjan Jha.
Dismissing his claim, Exam Controlled Adhikari said that they have been serving from the beginning and want to give chance to new who are below 60 years age.
“Both of them have already over 60 years. It is better for them to take advisor´s role,” said Adhikari.
