BIRATNAGAR, Oct 27: The Koshi provincial government has formed an investigation committee to probe the jetboat accident at Triveni Ghat on the Saptakoshi River, near the borders of Bhojpur, Dhankuta and Udayapur districts, on October 25.
A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to form the committee under the chairmanship of provincial secretary Ashman Tamang, said Gombu Sherpa, spokesperson for the Koshi provincial government.

The committee has been given seven days to investigate the accident and submit its report.
Three people died and three others went missing in the accident on Sunday.
The Cabinet also wished a speedy recovery to those injured and requested the concerned authorities to continue search and rescue operations for the missing people, Sherpa said.
The meeting further decided to present the Office of the Chief Attorney’s annual report for fiscal year 2025/26 to the Koshi Provincial Assembly. It also approved the Koshi Province Coordinated Tourist Service Desk and Hotline Operation Directive, 2026.
