Addressing a reception hosted by Jan Briers, governor of East Flanders province of Belgium, on Sunday, Koirala briefed the participants about the ongoing efforts made by the government to safeguard investment in Nepal. He also urged the local businesspeople to take benefit by investing in Nepal which is wedged between Asian giants -- India and China.
On the occasion, Briers praised Nepal´s tourism attractions and said more than 5,000 Belgian visitors visited the country last year. [break]
Koirala also attended a festival organized to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Belgium.
Around two million visitors are expected to watch a documentary on Nepal´s tourism and cultural attractions aired on a local TV station, a finance ministry statement said on Monday.
