Koirala invites Thai PM to Lumbini

KATHMANDU, June 17: Former Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala has invited Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. [break]



Koirala, who is currently in Thailand to participate in the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAP), extended the invitation during her meeting with Shinawatra Monday.



According to Director of Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Foundation Rakesh Hamal, Koirala, who is also vice chair of ICAP, held discussion with Shinawatra on issues related to women and international convention of ICAP. Koirala is also scheduled to meet former Thai prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
