Policeman Ramsingh Bhatt had opened fire on 25-year-old Surendra Mahato for no apparent reason, leaving him dead, at Hariharpur on Sunday. Mahato, a resident of Bharatpur Padariya of Mohattari, was on a motorcycle when the incident happened.
Dhanusha Chief District Officer Sambhu Koirala said Bhatt will be sacked from service and tried under the law.
