KATHMANDU, June 17: National cricket team opener Subash Khakurel is all set to return home from Sri Lanka. Wicketkeeper batsman Khakurel and another batsman Pradeep Airee had gone to Sri Lanka 10 days ago to play for Kurungela Youth Cricket Club in the U-23 Inter-club Cricket League there. Khakurel has cited personal reasons behind his decision to return home. [break]

The league was postponed for two weeks due to incessant rainfall in Sri Lanka. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakuryal confirmed the news and informed that Khakurel will return on July 8. Pyakuryal also said that there is only a slim chance of sending another player in Khakurel´s place. However, Airee will stay in Sri Lanka and play in the league.
