Karishma finished the event in 33.66 second in the Toye Swimming Complex. She had finished the same distance in 32.98 seconds during the Fifth National Games in April 2009.

The Beijing Olympian won limelight after she won a record 12 gold medals in the fifth national games. Her coach and father Ishwor Karki, however, said he was satisfied with her performance in Singapore as she had performed well during the practice session. “We can only give tough competition and hope for medals at South Asia level,” he said. He further added, “Nepal can expect medals in international events only after it gives world class facilities to the swimmers.”

Meanwhile, Sonu Kumar Gupta played a courageous match before losing to Sri Lankan Imantha Udanjaya 8-11, 8-11,11-7, 11-9 and 7-11 in table tennis single´s event. Alina Maharjan, Rojina Desar, Pradip Roka too suffered defeats in the event.
