Journo flees district after Maoist threat

KATHMANDU, March 22: A group of Maoist cadres led by Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) leader Kuber Prasad Bhetwal has allegedly issued death threat to Sankhuwasabha-based journalist Kishwor Budhathoki.



Sankhuwasabha correspondent of Annapurna daily has fled the district fearing Maoist attack, the daily reported Sunday. Maoist district leader Bhetwal and Maoist student leader Manju Sapkota threatened him of dire consequences over the coverage of Free Student Union elections in the district.



He has fled to Dharan and is taking shelter at his friend´s house, the daily said.
