Int'l SKIMA conference begins in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Minister for Education Giri Raj Mani Pokhrel inaugurated the 9th International Conference on Software, Knowledge, Information Management and Applications (SKIMA) on Thursday.



The conference, hosted by Kantipur Engineering College (KEC), aims to bring together researchers and experts in knowledge management, software engineering and information systems to share their ideas, experiences and insights, said the organizers.

Researchers and practitioners from academia, industries, research institutions, enterprise services and government organizations are to exchange innovative contributions around the conference topics. This conference series was started as an international collaboration between research professionals in Western and Asian countries in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2006. KEC had organized the second SKIMA in 2008 in Kathmandu.


Over 55 speakers will share ideas and knowledge on recent ICT innovations and modern technology in 12 sessions. The three-day conference will conclude on December 17.
