KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The two day-long ‘Born with Pride Conference’ is set to be organized in Hotel Himalaya, Kathmandu, from 27-28 September. The conference is being organized by the Regional Office South Asia of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), in collaboration with the Samriddhi Foundation, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kathmandu and the German Nepal Friendship Association.
There will be 21 speakers from seven South Asian countries as well as from Europe and the Tibetan community in the event. The conference also welcomes eight keynote speakers from across the Nepali and European political spectrum addressing various LGBTQIA+ community issues.

Similarly, there will be five interactive sessions during the conference to discuss multiple topics such as the queer in power, inclusive digital spaces for queer persons, the issue of legal recognition, the role of media, and the acceptance and integration of queer persons in civil society.
The keynote speakers include lawmaker Gagan Thapa, Member of Austrian Parliament Yannick Shetty, Member of Parliament, German Bundestag, Jürgen Lenders, Head of FNF Regional Office, New Delhi Dr Carsten Klein, German Nepal Friendship Association Alka Khanal, Miss Bhutan 2022 Tashi Choden Chombal, among others.
