DHANGADHI, Sept 24: Businessmen enforced an indefinite shutdown of businesses on Friday protesting a ban on liquor in Bajhang district.

Consumers, who are yet to shop for the festivals, have been severely affected by the shutdown. [break]

An all-party and all-stakeholders meeting at the District Development Committee on Tuesday announced the district dry effective from Wednesday.

The businessmen have been demanding that sale of liquor be controlled instead of being banned.

They have also demanded that the Khopde-Bajhang road that has remained obstructed for about three months be brought into operation and the Nepal Airlines flights between Bajhang and Dhangadhi be resumed.
